Collard Green Rolls

Ingredients:
Collard green leaves(Haak) - 4-5
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Jeera - 1/2 tsp
Hing - 1 chutki
Ajwain seeds- 1/4 tsp
Green chilli (chopped)- 3
garlic (peeled and chopped)- 3
Chopped onion- 1
Turmuric - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
For Paste:
Besan- 1 cup
pepper- 1/4 tsp
Salt- to taste
Red chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
garam masala- 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/4 tsp

Method:
Mix all the ingredients of paste with enough wather to make thick paste
wash the Collard green leaves and slit off the thick stems without tearing the leaves
face the leaves downwards and apply the Besan paste
Roll the leaves tightly

Repete for all the leaves
Put the leaves in steamer and steam for 15 minutes
Remove from steamer and cut in bite size and set aside the rolls
heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add ajwain, jeera and hing
Add green chilli and garlic to the pan. add onion and cook till done
Add the other masala and cook for some time
Add rolls to it
Mix the rolls and let it cook for 5-10 minutes
Serve with Roti

PS:

  • The original recipe is made from Arbi leaves but Collard greens were a good replacement.
  • The recipe would have been better if i would have applied more paste on leaves
